Australia is one of the most multicultural countries in the world. It offers a safe, friendly and multicultural environment that students can easily become comfortable with and has one of the highest standards of living in the world.
Students can make the most of their studies by experiencing the diverse cultures, food, sights and communities.
Australia offers equal opportunities for all. It is against the law to discriminate against people’s race, culture, religion or gender.
Depending on the location, lifestyle, course and institution you choose, Australia is considered one of the most affordable countries to live in. Your daily living expenses may include:
- Accommodation
- Food
- Clothing
- Entertainment
- Transport
- International and domestic travel

Australia is, undoubtedly, the perfect place to enjoy a quality education and outstanding quality of life. The best part about studying in this country is that you get excellent value for your money, with living expenses and tuition costs comparatively low as compared to the United Kingdom and Unites States.
Visa Requirements
To receive a student visa, you will have to prove that you have enough money to pay for living expenses, education costs and travel for the entire duration of your course. You can manage your expenses by working part time while you study. However, you can not and should not rely on your salary as your only source of income.
Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC)
You need to maintain an Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC) till the time your student visa is valid. You will also be responsible for your own accident and property insurance. It is advisable to purchase travel insurance before leaving your country to cover lost baggage, cancellation of plane tickets and repatriation.
Australian institutions educate over 400,000 international students per year. For many, the most powerful lure is the quality and the diversity of Australia's education system.
There are many benefits of studying in Australia. Students are attracted to the freedom to study and work and the relatively low living costs. They enjoy the challenge and freedom of studying overseas and the status that comes from studying at a reputable institution. Futhermore, students are attracted by the country's natural and man-made wonders, the peaceful environment, the cosmopolitan cities and multicultural communities.

Australian teachers encourage students to find original, practical solutions to real world problems and students are highly sought after by Australian and international employers upon graduation.
Cost Effective quality education
Australia offers significantly lower annual tuition fees for many popular courses at universities and institutions. Bachelor degrees can also be completed in only three years (exceptions include degrees in Engineering and Medicine) compared with four years in America. This does not indicate that lower cost courses translate into lower quality outcomes. On the contrary, Australian schools and universities have an international reputation for equipping, students with skills and qualifications that are recognised around the world.
Quality Assurance
Australian universities are widely known for the quality of their teaching and research. Australia's approach to vocational education and training leads the world in hnnovation and quality.
Australia has emerged as a leader in the development of international benchmarks for proper accreditation, consumer protection and qualifications recognition. The Australian government is committed to protecting Australia's reputation as a source of quality education and training.
Multicultural and safe environment
Australia is a very safe country. Political unrest is limited in Australia, crime raes are low and strict gun control laws provide a safe environment. To ensure the transition is easy, IDP offers students a host of support services to help them settle in Australia.
Furthermore, Australia is accepting of all religions. People have the right to practice their faith without persecution or discrimination and Australia welcomes the wealth of cultural diversity that international students bring.
If you are looking for quality education and a good lifestyle, Australia is the place to be.
Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF)
In 1995, Australia adopted the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF), a unified system of national qualifications in schools, vocational education and training institutions (TAFEs and private providers) and the higher education sector (mainly universities). The AQF is recognised by employers, and educational institutions both in Australia and abroad.
National Office of Overseas Skills Recognition (NOOSR)
NOOSR is an Australian government organisation that helps Australian institutions recognise international qualifications. Conversely NOOSR also promotes the recognition of Australian qualifications overseas.
Education Services for Overseas Students (ESOS) Act 2000
In 2000, Australia introduced the ESOS Act. The ESOS Act and regulations set out the legal framework governing delivery of education to overseas students studying in Australia on a student visa.
The Australian Government, through the Department of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations (DEEWR) administers the ESOS Act and its associated instruments.
ESOS ensures that Australian institutions must meet requirements for registration. If an institution fails to meet these standards for marketing activities, education delivery, facilities and student support services, they cannot be registered. This means that non-registered institutions are prevented from enrolling international students.
The ESOS legislation also provides consumer protection. This means students are guaranteed to receive the tuition for which they have paid for.
